Jul. 30th, 2003 09:35 amit's raining pretty hard. so it looks like a lovely gloomy day! and i don't mean that sarcastically; i love gloomy, rainy days.
i hope dave decides to take friday off for the water heater. he said last night that he was really happy i was taking such an interest in the water heater...like i wouldn't be interested in it? he said it was more a 'guy' thing to be interested in.
we went to pick the heater up at sears and had to tie it to the roof of dave's car to get it home. well, i watched dave tie it up. afterwards, i said he could now be considered an expert in the art of japanese bondage, since the box was tied up so prettily.
and there was this very odd moment for me when i handed him his pocket knife and he grabbed my hand, made eye contact, and said, 'thank you.' i don't know why it was so charged, but it was. i must have looked confused because he said, 'i learned that in boy scouts. to say thank you when someone hands you an open knife so they know you have it and don't let go too soon.' i don't know, it felt like more than that to me.
who knew going to go get a water heater could be so much fun?
