Right now they're looking for a name, but I didn't even know what kind of animal it was going to be before I listened to the story (someone at work was talking about it). My first choice for a mascot? A rabbit came to mind. In the news story, they talk to a mascot group guy, and rabbit was his first suggestion. My next idea was a sheepdog. And, it turns out, they are going to use an American Shepherd as the mascot. (really the american shepherd is not a recognized breed). Anyway, I guess I'm on the same wavelength as mascot guys and children between the ages of 8 and 12--they asked kids what the mascot should be, and sheepdog/shepherd was the most popular reply.
