I don't know how I feel about this book. I liked it, but the main character really pissed me off.
It really pissed me off that he slept with his partner. Then I didn't know if she honestly didn't care about them sleeping together and he ruined everything just because he was an ass, or what. And it's reminding me of some movie or tv show where the people sleep together and the guy just leaves. Oh, I guess that was "When Harry Met Sally." Just thought of it. But that is what it was like and it really pissed me off.
Also, although I enjoyed the pop culture references (music and South Park), they were somewhat incongruous.
I also was really annoyed that there was no resolution about the back story with the disappearing friends. I guess the book was just too realistic for me. That story line should have been resolved, and I don't think that the sleeping together thing was okay, even though it was realistic. I just didn't like it.
But, I do have her next two books on hold, so I liked it well enough to read more. Not like Atonement, which really turned me off of him and I'm loath to read anything else.
