I love Greek food. But the good and close place here closed a long time ago and we never seem to make it out to any of the other places (and if I recall, they aren't as good as that first place anyway). We do have an annual Greek festival here but I never seem to go because I don't make an effort to find anyone to go with. It usually happens around my older son's birthday, so maybe this year the two of us could go and make it a birthday outing for him, even though he's something of a picky eater.

We just had ours the 16th - 18th. It is fun and I've been a few times. I am not big on crowds and somehow it always seems really hot during the festival. I think we actually did have a warm streak this last time again. I am sorry you have to go so far for good Greek food. What are you going to do with the chicken and sausage? You do have me wondering about pimento cheese and chicken.

It is actually chicken sausage. I am not sure what I'm going to do with it. I have some frozen chopped peppers I could use, and I was also thinking about grits. But I like cheese in my grits and all I have right now is mozzarella and havarti. Oh, and parmesan. The havarti might be okay. Scrambled eggs with sausage and peppers is also a thought but right now eggs do not sound good at all. I am having some strange aversions these days.

Aubrey Mill or some such - they make hush puppy mix has a nice creole grits mix. They also have a parmesan and herb mix that I haven't tried yet. So it doesn't sound like you lose no matter which way you go with it. I need to pull a pack of chicken down to thaw this evening.

Those both sound good! I just have plain grits here. I actually have some roasted red peppers so once I buy some cheese I could try making my own pimento cheese.
